HERE'S THE 2009 TIMELINE:
- NOW: Get REGSTERED on this website.
- THEN: Pay the ENTRY FEE. (Only one fee per team) Registering is free - You'll get all the info and be able to come to the party, but to make a film and be eligible for prizes, you need to pay. Yes, you can wait and pay in Cannes, but it'll cost you an extra 10 Euros.
- SOON: You’ll receive important information about meeting locations in Cannes.
- RIGHT AWAY: Start assembling your team. Forward this page to all your filmmaking buddies. Figure out who’s bringing the Camera, Microphone, Computer (for editing), Props, Wardrobe, Booze, etc. (Of course, you don't yet know what your film will be about, but anything could be useful.) Draw straws to decide who’s directing, starring, etc.
- MAY 13: The Festival opens. Make your way to the South of France, find your way around, watch some films, make friends, and create alliances - these will come in very handy. Be sure to get your accreditation sorted out early. - Festival Accreditation opens in February the official festival site. (You don't need accreditation to be part of the Challenge. But triust me, if you can get it, it's worth having.)
- FRIDAY, MAY 15, 5PM: Get acquainted. Join us for a beer. Meet us. Ask your questions. Register your team - Maybe even form one. (Register so we can email you the exact place.)
- SATURDAY, MAY 16, 12 NOON: Rendez-Vous (that’s French for “meet”) at our Headquarters. (Location to be determined - Just look for our banners.) There, you will sign the registration form, draw your Title and Genre, and get started.
- SUNDAY, MAY 17, 12 NOON: Come back and hand in your final, finished film. (See? Wasn’t that easy?) Give us a couple days to QC the films and promote the show. Then...
- TUESDAY, MAY 19: We’ll have a big screening/party at the M1NT Festival House at which you'll be a V.I.P.. There, we'll give the awards, including software from Final Draft and Adobe*. Bring that producer you’re trying to impress and that actress you’re trying to "attach". Reunite with your team, who should be speaking to you again by then. (Make sure we have a way to reach you for last minute venue changes.) And, of course, watch your work in front of an audience in CANNES.
-
*More prizes to be announced soon.
